The Meeting maintains both an adult library and a children’s library, containing books, magazines and audiovisual materials that may be checked out by members and attenders. The library collections include works that support religious education, spiritual growth, and understanding of the Quaker testimonies. The adult library is known as the Edith Jones Memorial Library in honor of the beloved former librarian for the Meeting.
The adult library is in an alcove on the upper level of the Meetinghouse, just outside the south doors of the main worship space. The children’s library is in one of the classrooms on the lower level.

Using the Library
How do I borrow books and other materials from the library?
- Take the card from the pocket attached to each item.
For books, this is usually inside the back cover. If there is no card, take a blank card from the front of the card file and print the item’s author and title at the top. - Print your name, phone number or email address, and today’s date on the card.
- Place the card in the card file, filing it under the first letter of the author’s last name (or whatever letter is underlined at the top of the card).
- Please return items in one month or less.
Feel free to write the due date on a blank card and take it to use as a bookmark. - Place returned items in the inbox on the shelf by the windows in the library.
Are all of the items in the catalog currently available? Is everything in the catalog?
- Many items are checked out and some are undoubtedly missing. We are in the process of doing an inventory and updating the catalog to better reflect what we have. To help us with this, please return any items that you’ve had for more than a month.
- Some items in the library are uncataloged. For example: individual issues of magazines (Friends Journal, Quaker Life, etc.) and many of the Bibles.

Do you accept donations? How do I donate an item to the library?
- Yes, we do accept donations. All donated items are evaluated for possible addition to the library.
- To donate an item, please fill out the library donation form (also available in the library). This will let us know why you think we should add it to the library, and what we should do with it if we don’t.
- Leave the donated item and form in the inbox on the shelf by the windows. Thanks!
